Community Appreciation Award Breakfasts
The Community Appreciation Award is an original piece of art created and donated to the Economic Resource Council by local artist and businessman, Howard Levine. The artwork is entitled "Resource Development," and is a representation of a stamp mill on display in Downtown Grass Valley, California, certainly a symbol of Nevada County history and industry. It is intended to portray a proud history and sense of community strength evident today many years after the last stamp mill ceased operation. Our Community Appreciation Award winners are confirmation that the spirit of industry which was once focused on gold is alive and well, and now provides products, technology and service the world over.
Three times a year, the Economic Resource Council hosts a breakfast banquet to honor a new recipient. This designation is intended to honor and recognize those product and service exporters in Nevada County who provide the employment and support so necessary to the health of our community. This designation is intended to honor and recognize three distinct categories of business: (1) those that manufacture a product for export; (2) those that provide a service; and, (3) a business from the agriculture community. These employers provide the employment and support so necessary to the health of our community. |

The annual Economic Forecast Conference is designed to provide the general public with a once a year glimpse into the economic conditions of the Nation, State, and County. Visiting economists provide their viewpoints on issues and trends relevant to the economic climate of each of these entities.

Tours of Nevada County
The annual Tour of Nevada County is designed to provide the general public with a look into the economic engine that drives Western Nevada County. The principal focus of the tours is to highlight product exporting manufacturers. Participants in the event tour around in chartered busses to several businesses. At each business the participants are given a live presentation on what precisely the company does.
